[a]And say, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the Fathers died, all things continue alike from the beginning of the creation.

[b]For this they willingly know not, that the heavens were of old, and the [c]earth that was of the water, and by the water, by the word of God.

[d]Wherefore the world that then was, perished, overflowed with the [e]water.
